UNDERCOLORS OF BENETTON
FALL/WINTER
Very womanly, very child-like.
Two straight and only apparently obvious definitions for two Undercolors collections for women, men and children. However this is not the case. The secret lies in that “very” which definitely strengthens a style yet which encapsulates the magic of proper proportions. Nothing is excessive, nothing is redundant, and yet the types are defined in this way, attractive, convincing and appealing, leaving no room for doubt and with instant charm.
Naturally the major part of the collection is called Winter in Paris. The collective fantasy is of a Paris that inspires female, never baroque, frivolity and down-to-earth male icons.
WOMEN’S COLLECTION
Winter in Paris. Black and white underwear which becomes gradually tinged and blends with soft colours: grey, pink, aquamarine, mauve, sand and khaki. A velvet ribbon, a crystal, a bow, a tiny flower bring about a shift into the next shade, gradually replacing the original colour and thus enabling individual coordination. Simple, sexy shapes for bras, panties, culottes and tops in stretch lace, flowered and animal print mesh, jacquard cotton and openwork modal. Slips, nighties, pyjamas with small rouches, openwork, narrow rib, special stitches, narrow stripes, velvet or silk trims, in materials of different weights, from tubular modal to cotton, brushed jersey to Pile.
The witty side of the Undercolors femininity for winter 2007 is shared between a pair of Guapisimos – Spanish donkeys – and a United Turtles world, with underwear, homewear and nightwear. Cotton, Lycra, jersey and fleece in black, wisteria and coral the first, pink, military green and white the second. Pure young fun with delightful flirty touches.
CHILDREN’S COLLECTION
The children’s underwear covers the fun themes introduced for adults with a few digressions. The items, more feminine for the girls and plainer for the boys, play in the wake of the Guapisimos donkeys or the fun United Turtles, favouring pastel shades in the colour range. Possibly introduced for smaller children although later taken up by the rest of the family are the Happy Hour and Animal Party ranges, the latter with comical and placed animal prints.
